Hello everyone. I will be taking my nclex next week, the 1st of November. I'm very anxious !
Let me tell you a little bit about myself before anything:
I graduated nursing school last year in August. I took some time after I graduated to travel and just figure out myself because I wasn't sure if nursing was the field for me. I came back from my travels and studied for about 4 weeks before testing. I tested on January 28, 2014-I failed!! I saw it coming because I wasn't giving it 100%. I didn't feel as bad about failing-Like I said, I saw it coming. All I did to prepare was the NCSBN course for 3 weeks and I could honestly tell you-I didn't even to the full course. So, I swallowed my pride and continued on with life. Still unsure if nursing was the field for me. A couple months down the road, I ran into a friend who was in nursing school with me. She and I caught up on life and she was just in awe when I told her I still don't have my license and I was unsure of what to do. She told me about all the various nursing positions available and thought I was giving up on a great field-something I worked very hard for. She was also amazed that, I, was telling her this. She knew how hard I worked and how much patient care mattered to me. Anyways, I thought a lot about what she said, and she was right. I decided to enroll in kaplan and see if that would help me. I went to the classroom, did all the questions in the question bank, and reviewed all of my weak areas- I FELT PREPARED! I tested again on June 28th-FAILED AGAIN. This time around-I was mad, furious, just broken. I cried and cried and cried until I fell asleep. I woke up and thought- it was a dream, it was a dream! But it wasn't! Reality struck me! I knew I was capable of doing this and here I am-sitting, drinking my coffee and writing this forum 11 days before I test again. This time around- I did kaplan again, Saunders, a little bit of Hesi, and I am currently doing the Lippincott's Alternative type question book. I find myself struggling with SATA questions a lot!!! Is there any tips anyone could provide me with to be able to do SATA questions and also anything else I should know. Any advice will be more than appreciated and I thank all of you who are willing to help.
:)
