Las Vegas CRNA Market

Specialties CRNA

Published

I was just wondering if any of you had any information on the CRNA market in Las Vegas. I'm getting really close to graduation and would love to get back there but I've researched quite a bit and have come to the conclusion that MDs seem to have a stronghold of the anesthesia market. Most of the big anesthesia groups are all MD and cover most of the hospitals in the area (Vegas, Henderson, etc.).

I remember seeing a fair amount of CRNA jobs several years ago, the majority of which were surgical center positions, but now even those are nearly non-existent. Does anybody know of any hospitals or surgical centers that even utilize CRNAs anymore? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The ONLY CRNA jobs you're likely to find in Vegas are either at Nellis AFB or possibly St. Rose Dominican. You're correct - the MD's DO have a stranglehold on the town. There is some unwritten agreement NOT to sponsor CRNA's, so you won't be working in any of the hospitals.

St. Rose is a catholic hospital and when I lived there several years ago, they did have some CRNA's (not many), but I don't know if that's still the case. I don't know about ambulatory places, but I worked at FT at UMC and did per diem's at Valley and Sunrise and CRNA's were anathema. Times change, but I doubt that's changed.

Go to gaswork.com ... it's the main CRNA job board in the country.
