Lap assisted hysterectomy

Published

Hello all, I graduated 3 months ago and last week ended up at the same hospital, same floor I did my maternity clinical for a total hysterectomy. How ironic. Wondering if there are any fellow nurses who have had lap asst lady partsl hysterectomy and how long you were recovering before returning back to work. My doc said minimun of 4 weeks. I feel quite good only 1 week out with the exception of a pressure/spasm sensation of the rectum which I am thinking it could be Levetor syndrome? I hope it isn't a permenant condition after hysterectomy. Share any experiences? Hugs in advance. :heartbeat

I'm 55, and had an LAVH & BSO in May-was told I could go back to work in two weeks-uh, no thanks. Had six weeks off-I work in PACU, it can be unpredictable there and I didn't need to try & stop someone climbing out of bed!

One of the best things I've done-Hb January to April-98 to 110 (on iron pills), Hb last week-135. No wonder I never felt like doing housework then, wonder what my excuse is now.

Worst moment-trip home, husband forgot to drive gently over speed humps!

I was kind to myself the first week or so, and increased activities as boredom set in, remaining aware of limitations.

Emotionally/mentally I feel no different than before.... I'm still a snarly b#$ch!
