Laid off while still on medical work restrictions

I was released to work after eye surgery for a detached retina, but with work restrictions. I still need one or two more surgeries to restore my sight. I was laid off this week! How am I supposed to look for work when I know I can't do the work of a Registered Nurse without restrictions? Is this wrongful termination?

Does the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Cover Short-Term Illnesses?

You might have some protection under the ADA. If you haven't done so, you might consider consulting a lawyer familiar with disabilities and the ADA. He or she would ne able to review the specifics of your case and best advise you as to your best course.

Best wishes as you work through this.
