Oh wow, I didn't know they handed out letters like that. I am a prenursing student at LAGCC- I am almost done with all of my pre-requisites. When I met my adviser I asked her what the lowest GPA they accepted last semester was and she was very vague. It will be interesting to find out.
Something I have noticed though is that there are a lot of people in the AP1 and Chem and other classes that are taking those classes so that they can go elsewhere.
@felheart congraulations on getting in. Quick question for you. You mentioned that "Spring candidates are required to take Statistics(replacing Medical Dosage) and Community Health(replacing Urban Sociology)- (updated nursing curriculum for Spring '12 applicants)."
Does that mean that if you already took those classes (Urban Sociolog and Medical Dosage) they no longer count toward your nursing curriculum? For example I've already taken those two courses and received an A and am planning to apply for the RN program next semester. I'm going to talk to the department but just wondered what they told you guys. Now I'm afraid I'll have to take those two new ones.
Don't take those. Take Statistics and Community Health instead. I would suggest that if it's your 1st semester, take Eng101,SSY101,SCC210 and SCB203 and thats it. Apply for a candidacy and take SCB204 in the 6week session - prior to the nursing clinicals. If you want to be sure to get atleast an A- for those key courses, do a 2 semester combo of either ENG + SCC(1st sem) or SSY +SCB(2nd sem) or vice versa. You could take extra courses during summer and winter sem and add Stat and Comm Health.

@felheart: Thank you for that link. It explains, and clarifies what I was wondering about. It's great that even after you yourself got in the program you are helping other hopeful candidates with info, tips etc. Keep us posted about how you like the program, your classes etc, now that you are in.
No problem. I also had some issues in writing essays but I got used to it. My prof told me to practice and write a journal every day and I did. You'll see your improvement in a short time. You might wanna consider blogging anything under the sun, or you might get lucky and register for a lenient prof that gives away A! Lol well all school have those kind of prof I'm just saying.

Any spring 2012 R.N candidates here? I believe acceptance/denial letters are being handed out next week or after.
