I am sure you can find someone to help there. They are generally NOT nurses and yet have access to, or ARE LC's themselves. Best of luck.
Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, WA (425)899-3000 uses 'lay' lactation consultants, but all of the lactation consultants are IBLBC certified and all have at least a bachelor's degree. The lactation consultant who saw me after my son was born had an M.Sc. in social work and and M.P.H. (master's in public health).
The job does pay well but again, I doubt you would be employable without at least a Bachelor's and some advanced training.
