lack of requirement....confuse....having mild panic

Published

i received a letter two days ago from the board and i am missing one requirement, i need to give them a copy of my local license from my native country (philippines) but the problem is i didn't take the local board.

i left after my graduation last april 2007 because i'm an immigrant and already staying outside the u.s. for 5 months and we don't want to maximize it (6 months) to not get furder questionings (unfortunately they did question us in another room). so techinically, i didn't had a chance to take the june local board as well as the december board.

now, i'm very confused and read on their website that i need a letter of explanation. my brother who graduated last year had the situation as i am now but he sent his letter in advance during his time of application which he didn't told me earlier. he doesn't want to tell what he exactly told the board and it's very vague. my dad told me that i'm an immigrant and i should tell the board that i didn't took the local because i'm not going to practice there.

what should i do? what should i tell? what things do i need to elaborate and what's not?

hi! i also graduated in the phils and was sent a letter by california brn that they need a copy of my license to complete my application. in my case, i attached with my application a letter stating why i don't have a copy of my license yet (when i sent my application, my license was still being processed).

you should write them and tell them the reason why you didn't take the local board exam, i believe that it's not a requirement.

just relax...:nuke:i know some friends who were also asked for the copy of their licenses...yes,it isnt one of their requirements..just send a letter explaining as to why u weren't able to take...

i can't relax until i get my eligibility...T_T

i'm still having "what ifs" in my mind and i don't want the scenario that i will need to get the local...T_T

i hope you guys are right that it isn't a primary requirement. all i need to think right now is how should i explain why i didn't had the chance to take it and i hope it's enough for them to accept my explanation....T_T

hi same here, i had the same problem too, a year ago, i just send a letter explaining why i don't have the local license, then it took a month i think for them to process again... don't worry you will be eligible soon... but send the letter first... you just need to write in a plain white paper explain everything why you don't have your local license... you don't need to take the board...

Be aware that things change and so do BON's. Some BON's are now making it a requirement for local license unless there is a good reason to why you did not take it. For example in the Philippines you have to be a citizen to sit the exam so if not a citizen then you can't so good reason.
