Lacc Nursing Spring 2018

Published

Hello,

I applied lacc nursing for Spring 2018 and I made a thread to share any information. Anyone heard anything from them ? I've already submitted all required documentation and waiting to hear about the lotto results.

I received my acceptance letter yesterday so hopefully I receive the packet soon.

Hello today I received a call saying I got into the program but I had to decline because I got into another program. I was alternate number four then went to be number two then I was in, so those who are alternates you still have the chance to get in.

So I'm sure all of us have already received our medical packets. So I have a questions as to where are you guys getting your CPR cards because most places I've checked charge $60 and up.

Oh I have not received my medical packet yet. Has anyone else have not received the medical packets? For the CPR cards, most places charge about $60. I got my CPR certification in Agoura Hills and I think paid about $70 for it.

Have you checked your email ? If you haven't received I suggest you call to have them email it to you. & I guess I'll just settle for paying $60 then. Thanks for the replying.

They sent out the medical packets to our email about two weeks ago. Also, I found this place called Los Angeles mail & CPR center that charges $50 for the CPR card. Additionally, there is a deal on Groupon that you can purchase ($15 for $30 services) that would bring down the total to $35 (50-15=35). Hope this helps someone.

Hey! Just wanted to mention something in regards to the medical packet. Go get your physical, TB shot, flu shot, MMR, VZV, Hep B titers that say you're immune, Dtap shot if you haven't received any recently. I had to wait until I got my packet(last minute) and then I was stressing bc I was showing that I wasn't immune to some titers and I had to get shots and then redo the titers to prove I was immune. I wish someone from a previous semester would've told me so I could've been proactive! So I'm just letting you guys know! Oh, the tb test has to be a two-step, meaning that you get a tb shot and check it in 2 days and then repeat it again the following week(yes! Tedious! But required). Long story short! If you're not willing to get the physical or shots out of the way now, at least get the titers out of the way so you can know wether your immune or need a series of shots to become immune. Please note: shots are given weeks or months apart. I hope this help! Best of luck!!

Thank you for the feedback! I've been up and down these past days trying to get everything done. I just received my first tb shot today, getting it read on Friday, and then retesting on 1/5.

You're very welcome. I'm glad to hear that you're getting some stuff out of the way! :) best of luck!

Thank you :)

By the way, are you in the program already?

Do you happen to know if there are any stethoscope restrictions?

Yes, I am in the program already. There are not any restrictions when it comes to your clinical items. You may purchase a stethoscope of your choice. Don't forget to also grab a pair of bandage scissors and a light pen. I would also purchase a sturdy clipboard and lots of pens! Happy shopping!

Thank you very much for all the helpful tips! I will surely begin my shopping soon :)

Also, I don't want to overwhelm you with so many questions, but could you possibly describe your experience in the program so far?
