Hello everyone i was hopping someone would help me figure out which college to choose. Well I was accepted into the Mount st. Marys ADN program and i accepted their offer thinking I might not get accepted to the other colleges but i got my letter of acceptance from LACC nursing program today and i am not sure which is a better option Mount st Marys college which has a better reputation but is private which costs about 38000 and LACC (Los angeles city College) which is public and only costs 5000. Which one would you pick and Y. I cant decide they are both 15 min away from my house so distance is not an issue

Ahem,
you posted this question before and some folks replied. You have to weigh the pro's and con's yourself and make your decision. If you're folks are rolling in money, then, hey, go for Mount St Mary's!! If you're like most people, then you've got to decide if you want that much debt.
Either school will give you an ADN. As I said in my prior post, $38000 is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for an ADN but, that's just my opinion. I would go to LACC in a heartbeat.
As far as getting a job after graduation . . . who knows?? Maybe the job market will turn around and then it doesn't matter where you got your degree. In a tight job market, employers may look at your school but if that's your concern . . . employers may favor a BSN over the ADN. We cannot make your decision for you. You must decide.
tnx a lot i think i someho put the questions 2 times thinkin d other one didnt post but yea i thin ill go ahead n choose lacc :)

When a school tells you you are an officially accepted alternate, what that means is that you are an alternate, you are not in until a primary student drops and a slot opens up for you. But, you must act just like students who are officially accepted and go ahead and take care of your titers and immunizations and attend all of the mandatory meetings just as if your on the primary list. The reason for this is that the schools don't have time, and neither will you, to begin this process only after a primary accepted student drops somewhere along the way. They need you to be ready to go as an alternate to step in immediately if a primary student should drop at any time in those first weeks before school starts or in the first week or two of classes.
