I never saw much case management going on in L&D anyway, as the UR component was pretty negligible in most deliveries and there were very few long-term admissions or complicated postpartum courses requiring arrangements for discharge. Any CM that really needed doing was easy for the regular M/S case managers to pick up on an episodic basis.
This sounds like a real pipe dream. :)
I agree with GrnTea... Maternity CMs are in-house. Complicated discharges are taken care of by them along with an IDT that is also in-house... UR is not complicated for this population with a few exceptions.... When the patient has complications, he/she is transferred to the ICU (adults) or NICU (babies) or a Med surge (adults), where his/her case is also taken care of in-house.
Insurance companies hire CMs , where some are able to work from home. Check out threads on that topic to get some ideas of employers. Good luck.

Anyone ever hear of telecommuting jobs as case managers for labor and delivery/maternity? I would love to do something like that.
