Hi! I applied for the Spring 2020 cycle at Pierce College. Just seeing if anyone else has too? Any news?

I'm going to be in my 2nd semester at Pierce and I'm just peeping on here because I wanted to see if I can answer any of your guys' questions to help you all out a bit in terms of prepping for the program. I know you guys are going to have orientation and all, but I promise you, the more prepared you are about going into this commitment, the better off you'll be.
Do you suggest reviewing any specific topics?

Well, for starters, did they already tell you which textbooks to buy? Because there's a math book you're required to rent/buy. For the first month, you'll have math quizzes coming off of the first six chapters of that book. Also, if you're the type to really want to be on top of reading for class, I suggest you start now because there's a lot of material to cover in such little time, thus time management is key.

How do we know what books to buy? Thanks for your help!

During orientation, they'll provide buckets of information, including information on textbooks, alongside collecting the required paperwork. Most, if not all, of the course will be online. Further instruction will be provided to you then.

How did you register your classes?
it looks like it requires special code form admission and records office ?!
FYI I am in the stand by list?
Hi Catherine,
For your special circumstance, you need to be invited to the orientation and accepted on orientation day (prof will say so). As you are on the standby list, there is no confirmation or rejection of your status in the program until then. As for enrolling in classes, your status as either an accepted student or not for this semester will be your determining factor. To add, you don't have to worry about a special code, since the secretary will take care of it for you first, and then you kind of just have to check back on the portal every day and check if you can enroll in the classes. (I know it's kind of annoying but no one notifies you about it so you have to do it yourself) Also, it will take some time to get you processed into the system, but the professors do know who's in the program or not. So, if you have any problems that aren't resolved before class starts in the spring, I recommend emailing the profs and getting the syllabus from other classmates, so that you aren't behind on reading and work. I hope this response helps. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me!
