Hi All,

I was accepted for the Fall 2014 semester but decided to defer my acceptance to the January 2015 class. So I hope to get to know you all. I already got my health clearance, livescan out of the way, hopefully I don't have to re-do.

Woohoo!!! Can I ask a question about the questionnaire? Does that count toward or against your acceptance at all?

i don't think it does. I truly believe it's point-based. Although, I could see them using it as a tie-breaker, just in case applicants end up with the same amount of points

That makes me feel a little better :] I'm so anxious for nov to get here.. I'm taking the rest of the year off because I'm done with school

I just decided to hold off for a few reasons:

1.I had just started a new job in April, which I really like.

2. gives me time to save up a little money

3. gives me a few months to have fun and spend time with family and friends-which we both know will be almost near impossible come January

How was the pre reg like? What do they talk about? Are all or most of the clinicals at lac usc? Sorry I like to ask questions lol

It was exciting. We went over the curriculum, financial aid, uniforms, clinicals, the way the school schedule went. The clinical groups are at a few places, Olive View in Sylmar I believe, LAC/USC and one other site. All groups have class at LAC/USC but then on clinical days have to go to their sites, even on school days that we have to go over to our sites to pick our patients. And no worries and I don't mind the questions. anyway I can help.

Awesome!!! We don't have clinicals at sylmar if we checked the la box on the app right? I hope not!! That's way too far for me.

Also about the financial aid.. I'm so confused because I know u have to pay your dues at lac usc med center and then bring bac the receipt but what if you're completely dependent on financial aid to pay? Do u receive all of it prior and then you go pay or is the tuition portion taken out and then you receive the rest that's leftover

This is for anyone but do you think that la county is "so hard" because you must also complete other non nursing classes in addition to the nursing curriculum? The schedule looks less crazy than other programs (like smc or the like) except it includes all those other classes.
