Hello Everyone!
Will try to make this very brief! I have been a nurse for 6 years in Louisiana (CVICU, FLOAT POOL/ TELE) and received a violation for a failed drug screen (THC)! I have not smoked since before the incident which was over a year ago! I learned my lesson after losing a wonderful job last year!
However, I was preparing myself for what has just come....A CONSENT ORDER(drug screening violation) and ordered to undergo an inpatient substance abuse evaluation! Go FIGURE! No previous history with the board or any criminal record.
My consent states that if monitoring is recommended blah blah blah (UA, evals, PROBATION, ETC.)
I have not used in about a year now and I don't drink , but I think that these so called evaluators, addictonologist will still try to find a diagnosis and/or chemical dependency even when there is NONE. Tx keeps the money rolling in....ANY THOUGHTS, ADVICE, ETC?

Find an attorney that specializes in professional license defense. Make sure they have experience in dealing with the Board of Nursing. Have them look at it and from that choose your best response. Is there a time limit with this Consent Order? If so, find a way to see a lawyer pronto.
