L&D RN to NP

Published

Hello,

I am an RN who has spent a year as a LDRP and c-section circulating nurse. I have always wanted to be an NP and am not sure where to go from here. I love the population I work with right now but an not sure if I want to pigeon whole myself by becoming an WHNP. On the other hand I'm not sure if I would be able to work with that population as easily if I was an FNP or even look competitive while applying because I only have experience with women and babies. I really appreciate any thoughts/insights.

As an aside I am somewhat interested in being a surgical NP which I think would require I be an FNP?
