KPU BSN Fall 2021 Intake

Published

Has anyone applied/declared into this intake?

Has anyone heard back?

This sucks !! I have no clue I’m gonna try for BCIT but have to redo my Chem 11 I’m gonna apply to UBC midwifery program as well. Did you apply to any other schools.

I have applied for the BCIT the January intake. I also re-did my CHEM 11 as well in order to do so. ?

KPU is too picky! ? I just want to get into the nursing program! ?

Is the UBC midwifery program a degree program of 4 years?

Hopefully you get into BCIT ! Kpu is so competitive I wonder what the GPA cut off was.

Thanks! I am sure you will get in too! ?

KPU used to let you know the cut off in the letter but now they don't. They are soo secretive. ?

BCIT has three intakes compared to KPU (they have only two), so I will probably apply to all them and perhaps other schools as well. ?

Hey guys!
I just stumbled upon this thread now!

I got in with a 3.77GPA ?

I have a feeling they took the CASPer into account a lot more than we anticipated. I threw my name in there on the day of the deadline just for fun not expecting to make it in! ?

I think Spring will definitely be easier to get into as it usually is, so don’t give up!
Also, good to hear they are holding a waitlist now. They never used to do that and it drove me nuts. It took me three years of doing health foundations to finally get in!

Good-luck to you both!
If you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them too!

That's awesome! Congrats!

I don't think KPU actually holds a waitlist. KPU has been clear about this and states this on their website. KPU also has never responded to students wanting to know where to improve to finally get acceptance. It's ridiculous!

Oh! In your guys’ last messages it sounded like they would notify you if a spot became available, sort of like a waitlist.
That sucks they still don’t ?

I know, it’s so tough because they don’t tell you what you scored on CASPer and admissions are so up in the air right now with the changing requirements. I had all the pre-reqs completed for Langara as well as my back-up. The GPA cut-off there is a little bit lower, just less classes to determine your GPA that’s all.

I think they add the waitlist part to the decision to cover themselves. Most schools will have a waitlist because not all chosen students will get the requirements done before the deadline.

It sucks to being in KPU limbo. ?

If they do contact people because there is space I would be shocked. As I have never heard of them doing this from other intakes. But I do want to say to others, don't lose hope! Also, don't put all your eggs in one basket! ? Apply to other schools as well. It's not a matter of if you get in but rather when you get in. It will be awesome!
