Know of NP preceptors in Southern California

I hope that someone on here can help. I'm a 2nd semester FNP student in Southern California. The program I'm in requires us as students to locate our own preceptors. I have been turned down time and time again. I even got turned down today by NP that said her clinic only takes medical students. It kinda hurt, because I'm thinking, she's a NP and unable to help a fellow NP out. I know taking on students is a difficult and time consuming task, but I'm wondering how are we suppose show the world what NPs are all about if we can't even get a fellow NP to help a future NP out. It is very frustrating because no matter how much I read in a textbook, what is going to shape me as an FNP when I graduate next year are my clinical learning experiences. So I have got to learn the most I can now.

I live in the Los Angeles area, however I am willing to commute and even travel to another state to obtain my hours. In my program you must take a leave of absence if you are not in clinicals the entire time, aka getting kicked out and having to return next year and hoping to find a preceptor again. Grad school is already hard enough so the added stress of trying to not be kicked out of something you worked so hard for and deserve is very nerve racking especially when you are a good student. If anyone can help or offer any words of encouragement please do, because I could use the support right now.

Just curious, if you don't mind mentioning---what school do you go to in socal? Is it a state school that's not helping you or have any resources? I'm sorry you find yourself in this position :(

Hi, did you ever find a clinical? I am in the same predicament now and it is very stressful. I live in Huntington Beach if you found anyone I would love to hear more about it.
