Kings County Pay Question

U.S.A. New York

Hi Everyone!

I had some questions about the pay rates at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. I know the Hire-in rate, but does anyone have insight about night differentials, prior experience pay, etc.? I am having a hard time finding concrete info on this. Feel free to send me a private message - thank you!

All HHC hospitals have the same pay scales and differential rates. Night shift differential at HHC is about $6k/year and BSN is $900. I'm not certain on experience pay, I know HHC gives $900/year per year of experience for HHC employees but I'm not sure about experience outside of HHC. It's either $500/year per year of experience up to 10 years or $900/year per year of experience up to 10 years.

Hi,

Does anyone mind sharing what RNs get in Brooklyn.

Hi Yschon- city hospitals (the public ones in Brooklyn are Kings County, Woodhull, and Coney Island, and start at $82-83,000 a year before night differential (which last I checked was 6K per year but that could have changed this past year). Private hospitals pay more- I know some pay up to 95K a year from what I hear.

Thanks!

Do you know which hospitals pay more? What about Mount Sinai, Maimonides, and community hospital?

which hospitals in Brooklyn pay the most?

Last I checked (May 2020) Mount Sinai ends up being around 95K a year and Maimonides is around $45- $48 (I heard this from other nurses, I do not know this for certain but it is what I hear. I do not know how much night diff factors into it, etc.) Highest paying hospitals in Brooklyn specifically would likely be NYU Brooklyn Methodist (NYU bought this hospital 1.5 or 2 years ago and this raised the pay from what I gather).

If mountsinai salaries are consistent as in NYC salary = Brooklyn I can assure you even as a new grad you will be well over 100k.. Starting pay is 50.83+.66 for BSN and 3.00 for night differential
