Kindred Hospital Houston The Heights

Published

Hello there!

I got a job offer from Kindred Hospital for a Med-Surg Position in Houston, The Heights.

I am a foreign graduate with more than 1 year of no experience. Just recently obtained my TX RN license.

Already applied to almost every hospitals, dialysis centers, rehabs/ltc, and nursing homes in Houston area. Finally, got a job offer. My focus is to get experience as much as possible.

For anyone who knows anything about Kindred and the area - The Heights in Houston, please do share your experience, comment, suggestion or so on. I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Specializes in Critical Care, Education.

The Heights is a lovely area that has seen a resurgence in the last 10 years. It's got a 'village' feel, but actually quite close to the central downtown area. Single family housing in the Heights is VERY pricey now, with lots of remodeled bungalows and Victorians. However, there are a lot of other housing options that are within a reasonable commuting distance. There are quite a few nice restaurants & quirky shops.

Congratulations on your new job.

Hi I hope you don't mind... just wanna ask if you are still working for Kindred? and how is it? I'm moving back to houston after taking my nclex and I'm planning to apply for kindred. I have no experience... Thanks!

Hello Khamay! Im still working but ended up in Kindred Houston Medical Center, not the Heights. So far, workload is hard at first, but you will get used to it. Plus you will be able to have good set of experiences and skills, and I find that good for a starter. I believe they're hiring right now. Goodluck!

Thank you so much for your info. I took nursing in the Philippines and I just back May 2015 and still doing Hurst review and waiting for my ATT. What about the pay rate? and benefits? sorry I have so much questions... I really just want to work asap after my nclex so I'm trying to search and gather informations. God bless!

Oh I see. They're ok. Good for a starter. It depends. What I recommend is to focus reviewing on your exam for now. Pray and give your best. Goodluck!
