Kent State Accelerated BSN - Summer 09

Hi, I recently applied to Kent State's Summer 09 BSN program and I'm just waiting to hear back if they've accepted me or not. I emailed the school about when to hear back and they said possibly mid March.

Just wondering if anyone has applied for the Summer program and if they've heard back yet?

Crap! The automatic email thing doesn't have my correct email address. Do you think that will matter? I would hope they would call if it didn't work. I didn't even get the email that confirmed that my letters had made it in. I just verified with the letter writers. Should I call? ahhhhh! Panic.

Just got acceptance email. :up:. Does anyone know a current accelerated BSN student? What has been there impression on the program? What is everyones backround? Just curious to see what other areas people are coming from.

Congrats on your acceptance. I received an acceptance e-mail as well for the Kent cohort. Although, I do not know any current accelerated BSN students I have heard nothing but good news about their program.

I haven't heard yet...:( What time was your email posted? I applied to the UH campus program, hopefully they haven't sent those out yet? Has anyone got into the UH cohort?

Just a note if you did not receive an e-mail. The letter of intent to accept or defer a seat in the class is due Wednesday, March 18. Maybe a few seats will open after that date if someone declines a seat.

I'm hoping they didn't sent out all the emails yet. I called Friday and no one seemed to know if the were finished or not. Chance are they did send them all out. I pretty frustrated because I really don't know what I could have done different. I believe my essay was pretty solid and my GPA was high. I could volunteer more but that really won't change my application between now and June when the next one is due. Maybe you can give me some insight as to how you got in.

I also applied to the UH program only. I have not heard anything. I called around 4 p.m. yesterday and I was told that they were "still working on it right now." Whatever that means! She did not elaborate other than to say they had not sent out all responses yet but had emailed some people. I hope that they wouldn't just say that. I imagine that part of the issue is that they are working to fill two cohorts. Some people must have applied only to one, some probably gave a first and second choice. I am hoping they worked on the Kent campus cohort first. I know they said they give preference to those who have completed all prereq's. So, perhaps that is part of it because mine won't be done until after this term.

After attending the informational session I do know that they do give an "extra point" to those applicants who have finished pre-reqs. They said they also give an additional point if you have finished the classes listed in blue here:
