Kent State Accelerated BSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Applied for the Accelerated BSN program at Kent for Fall 2018! I know the university had a prerequisite shift this year-has anyone applied? Understand the "point system?"

I think the cost of uniforms and background check are due at orientation. The fees and testing fee can be added to a payment plan and you can set up with one stop. the other stuff cpr, immunizations and clinical supplies are due before clinicals in October.

But we'll get an email this week explaining specifics. That first semester is a doozy! I looked into books for the second semester too-that's a whopper so be prepared! All the other semesters are extremely doable financially.

Yeah I did check the books and they are a lot. Just wonder how much this semester's tuition will be also what are the plans like?

I think this orientation will answer all our questions!!!!! I just hate that we have to wait so long

Congrats to everyone who got in!!

i applied for spring of 2019 day time cohort. I should be hearing a week or so I believe.

How are classes in Fall? I am so nervous I think I have 6.46 for the points.

Hi I wanted to know if you have taken Health Policy or Adults at Kent State yet? I am in my first semester of the Accelerated program at Kent and I wanted to start preparing for next semester soon and wanted to chat with someone who has taken those classes.

With Adults, there is a TON of information to learn. You are basically learning everything you need to know medically in this course. My suggestion is to stay on top of and/or ahead of your studies for this course. Do flashcards especially for your diseases (signs/symptoms, treatment, meds, nursing considerations, etc.) Soak up everything you can in clinical skill wise because you won’t get much opportunity skills wise in Peds/Community/OB. Instructors are pretty cool but expect you to know your stuff! This class is essential, no easy but not extremely difficult either.

Policy is pretty easy and straight forward depending on your instructor. FOLLOW THE RUBRICS WORD FOR WORD in all of your online courses or else you will lose unnecessary points. (Rolls eyes) Policy is big on APA so make sure you brush up on that prior to starting the course! Also, do not hesitate to reach out to your instructor with any questions.

stay on top of your studies and apply yourself and you’ll be just fine. ?
