Hi all!
I didn’t see if a thread was already made for this topic, but I actually had a question. I’m actually waiting for my ap scores to be submitted because they were archived, but I cannot get in touch with nursing admissions at all ?. Is there anyone who has submitted, or is thinking about submitting, their application while completing 2 courses? Also I’m just curious about anyone applying for the ABSN program ?.

Especially now that they are accepting TEAS scores through the end of September and I’m sure they will let us know by either the first or second week of October like they did last year. (October 5th for last year)
also: I took a Maymester course this year that literally bumped my GPA past the 3.0 cumulative requirement however, KSU didn’t even update my transcript until one month after the application was due. So annoying!! I actually have a really high TEAS. I scored a 90 and was told that even with a low GPA, I still had a good chance because of the high test score. I also have all my prereqs done, GPA is lower due to a family related issue that caused me to retake some courses but sadly it’s not like admissions will know that. Sigh. Does anyone think they probably got my updated transcript with my updated GPA instead?? I hate how slow KSU is on updating things and every time I ask them anything, it takes ages before I get a response. Best of luck to everyone!!
I bet they will look at your most current KSU transcript when looking at applications. I bet they havent started reviewing anyone’s yet. I assume they will accept all TEAS scores then do their first round of cuts, or what not. As long as it’s updated on your Owl Express Account; I’m sure that’s what they use when considering.

Ugh I’m so sorry. That’s a bummer, but don’t let that upset you too much. I’ve heard that the TEAS isn’t that huge. A friend of mine got in last semester with an 81 and a 3.7 GPA.

My college did not require some of their general ED requirements because it had different ones. Will I need to take those?
I don't think you will need to. From what I’ve heard from friends in the accelerated program; it’s 2 years of nothing but nursing. I’m sure your advisor will tell you for sure though if they will be required.
Thanks. I will check it out. When I look in Degree Works it shows some of those general studies like econ and art/theatre as open. I really hope that I don't need to spend time taking those classes in advance. I took my TEAS already and scored a 94 and not sure which classes they use to determine GPA. My only B in science was in Honors Chem 1/Lab and an A in Stats but a B in Algebra. Don't know if they factor other classes into their decision or not. I can't apply until I graduate in December.

I know you need to have the general requirements for an undergrad degree at KSU complete. I don’t think economics is on there, but I know that there’s the US history and American Government/politics requirement that’s not listed on the nursing application but is still required for KSU. I had to take those as well as the other courses because my previous university didn’t required them.

I assume they will use your cumulative GPA. My advisor told me all my transfer course that aren’t being applied still count towards that. But, they also look at just raw Science and Math grades when looking at the 12 required courses.

Be prepared to take them.
I am currently in limbo for the upcoming Spring accelerated program - I graduated with a BS in Chemistry (which required calc 1-3 + Advanced Analytical Chem [applied stats for chem solitons])
After pleading with the school, I am now currently enrolled this semester taking: elementary stats, history, and government... unfortunately, they will not budge on those core requirements.
Side rant bc I’m salty: They wouldn’t accept FSU’s government and history classes (“no Georgia component”) - I guess American history changes from state to state...
WOW!! Did you attend Florida State too? That's where I'm graduating from and I took STA2122 Intro to Applied Statistics but I believe they are counting that or at least that is how it appears when I look at Degree Works. I took American History as an AP class but it appears there is another one that I would need to take plus a World History which I did not have. Then there is an ECON 1000 which is a freshman-level 2 credit course. I also did the gov't class as AP but that might be a problem too. I've not seen these issues with any other school. Are you applying elsewhere and is Kennesaw your first choice?
