Kennesaw State University Fall 2015

U.S.A. Georgia

Is anyone planning on applying to KSU for Fall 2015?

Got my denial letter. Good luck to everyone!

@amn729 what?! You had great stats! Could you at least get an answer as to why?

Got my acceptance letter for accel. program. My stats:

- 90 on TEAS

- 2Bs on math/science, all other prereqs As (that counted toward the application)

- Cumulative GPA: 3.6

- GPA from last degree: 3.34

I honestly didn't think I'd get in this Fall with the 2 Math/Science Bs. That seems to be a big part of what they look at. TEAS I studied the book cover to cover, took the online test, and watched 1000 youtube videos. If anyone wants my ATI book you can have it.. I tried to write in it as little as possible.

Congrats to everyone on getting this far, whether you made it in or not - it was a long process. Talking to Fran really helped me get a good idea of where I stood when applying to the program. Good luck everyone!

I emailed to see what they had for my GPA, but haven't heard back. I think it was 3.65 overall and I got an 86 on my TEAS. All A's in math/sciences except A&PII was a B. 3.8 in pre-req's. Who knows! I'm taking it as a sign.

I received my acceptance letter in the mail today. Whew.

My stats (for what it's worth): Already a KSU student, also pursuing a Bachelor's in Psychology which is 96% complete. My overall GPA with 86 credits completed is 3.9. My Prerequisite GPA is 4.0. My TEAS score with about 2 weeks of studying during finals last Fall was an 86. I was advised to take it again because "I could do better". I did not take a second time. I did not apply for the Accelerated program.

I also applied to Georgia State's nursing program, which is more complicated because you have to apply to Georgia State first and be accepted before you can apply to the nursing program. They also have an extensive application that includes a lot of short answer questions about why you want to pursue nursing, and a two page essay about a healthcare topic with citations, a volunteer experience form and the requirement of two references; one from a professor preferably in a science, and one professional reference. I was accepted to Georgia State's Traditional program last month, but will declining enrollment there now. The Traditional track at Georgia State is 6 Semesters. I believe their average accepted GPA and TEAS scores are slightly lower than KSU. I did not apply for the Accelerated program.

For what it's worth, I have a friend who applied to Emory's accelerated nursing program for fall. She has a previous degree from Georgia Tech, and her GPA was about a 3.6 and she was accepted. I could never afford Emory, I didn't apply there.

For those who didn't get in this time to any program or feel like they won't get make it - don't give up. I am a non-traditional student, and hadn't been in school for 18 years before I came to Kennesaw. When I started at KSU, having not realized how much algebra I didn't remember, and doing poorly on math placement, I spent my first 2 semesters in remedial math before I could start my pre-req math and sciences. I took all my social and Gen Ed classes instead, taking 15 credits a semester, and taking classes every single summer to catch up. It wasn't easy. But it was possible. There were moments I thought it wouldn't be. But I didn't give up. Don't give up, you can do it.

Congratulations to all of you who were accepted, I look forward to getting to know you better. Hugs to all who weren't accepted this time around.

I just received my acceptance letter for the traditional program. I look forward to getting to know everyone this fall!

For the record, I have an overall 4.0 and got an 85 on the TEAS. However, I have a friend who was accepted to the traditional program and she is a non-traditional learner, with a previous GPA of around 3.6. She does have all As in the prerequisites, however, but a 79 on the TEAS.

Was finally able to see my letter. I was placed on standby for the accelerated program. Not too bad I guess. Hopefully I get a call back!

Got accepted into the accelerated program for the fall.

Excited and nervous all at the same time!

Hey everyone!

I used to look at this website a lot, and all I can say is that this has been a long process.

I got my acceptance letter, and stats:

Overall 3.94

Pre-reqs in both 4.0

Teas 82

Accepted into the accelerated program in the fall! So excited!

Hey ladies! So happy for all of you! All of the ones that didn't get in, keep trying and trust in God. I'll try again for spring and submit my retaken B classes, in which I made all As this semester.

I have a 3.84 GPA in prerequisites.

I have a 3.79 GPA in my 5/7.

82% on my teas.

I trust in Gods plan.
