I am applying for Kennesaw Nursing for the Fall 2018, and saw that there has not been a thread started! I would like to know if anyone has applied to the Fall 2018 Nursing Program @ Kennesaw State University yet? If so, would you mind sharing your GPA and Teas Scores? This is so that I can get an knowledge of what I should be on average of. Also, I take my TEAS tomorrow and prayers would be greatly appreciated!!
@Sandy
At the very least, Mercer has a discounted tuition for nursing students.
You'll end at about ~40k (11.8k / sem unless you have Hope then it's be 8.8k). They have a TON of scholarship opportunities & you could try to find some online as well.
Mercer also has a good merger deal with ATL hospitals for their nurses.
Have you also thought about applying to GSU? Similar tuition.
It couldn't have been your math. They're very forgiving for math as long as you're taught the core of what they want you to know.
If my theory about GPA groups is right, there might have just not been enough slots for your GPA group & you could get in Spring.
Mercer 1 sem then transfer?
Hi everyone! I was just accepted into the ABSN program and would like to also post my stats for future readers.
GPA: 3.57
TEAS: 92.0%
Sci/math GPA: no idea. I currently attend UGA and they use the plus/minus system so I never know how it converts. I also am a Biology major and have taken a lot of ridiculously hard courses like Ochem and Cell Bio, so I don't know if they factored that into my decision or not.
Congrats to everyone who got in! See y'all in the Fall!
All prerequisites were done and I only had world history to take, which I already registered for in the summer as a maymester. I did get into Emory and Mercer, but i can't afford either of those. lol, Ill try emailing because it doesn't make sense. do you think it had anything to do with the fact that I took a higher level chemistry (1211 & 1212) and math (1112)?
I have a friend who is finishing up her first year at Mercer GBCN and she went into the program not knowing how she was going to be able to afford it. She tells me all the time how helpful the faculty and staff are with helping her find ways to pay or get scholarships. There are a TON of private donations made that help students who can not get loans or afford to pay up front. Please don't let the tuition scare you off! If your heart is set on KSU, please do not simply accept the denial letter. Call, email, ask questions - it's possible there was a mistake. I got a denial letter from UNG and was baffled because I was told I was pretty much guaranteed to get in with my stats...I emailed a respectful inquiry that showed I was paying attention and highlighted my determination. They emailed me back saying they re-evaluated my file and had miscalculated my GPA. Attached to that email was my acceptance letter. It does not hurt to ask! Good luck!!
I was also accepted into the accelerated tract. I figure I'd post my stats since I definitly looked at all past blogs multiple times and everyones stats to judge how mine compared.
Overall GPA (all from my previous degree at GCSU, in biology) 3.60
KSU overall GPA (from 7 credit hours from A&P 1 and a psych class) 4.0
5 Science/math classes GPA 4.0
7 out of 12 classes GPA 4.0
TEAS score 91
I applied with only 10 of the 12 classes completed, currently taking the final 2 (A&P 2 and micro) at KSU
Very excited to meet everyone who got in!
I would absolutely love to know why I didn't get in with a 3.9 GPA and an 86 on my TEAS, when there are people on here that had lower scores on both who were accepted. All of my prerequisites will be finished this semester so I'm very confused.
Sorry to hear that. Out of curiousity we're you denied or waitlisted? Which program?
