Kennesaw Spring 2013 applicants

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

It seems way early to be posting this, but the application deadline actually isn't too far away. Is anyone else applying to KSU for spring 2013 admission? I've requested to be considered for the traditional and accelerated programs. Took the TEAS this morning, but I'm still finishing this semester's prerequisites, so I don't know what GPA I'll be competing with yet. Would love to connect with anyone else who's applying!

Best of luck, all!

uga_belle, when will our FB group be up?

Maybe we should put our real names on here now, so we will know then! We can facebook stalk each other until then :) I'm Tricia Monette

Ah, I think you sit down front, right? When we go to orientation, I'm going to want people to put their real names and their name on here on their name tag. :)

Yes I do, I believe just like 2-3 rows in front of you. So it would be good idea to put our allnurses name on there as well! So we can see who we've been talking to for months lol :)

long time lurker here.

just out of curiosity, what are the stats of everyone who did and did not get in?

I got a 95% on the TEAS, As and a B in prereqs, and not exactly sure what my GPA was when I transferred in. I had a lot of classes that I didn't take seriously before I came to KSU because I was originally an accounting major a long time ago... SO I think my GPA overall was in the lowish 3 range. Hope that helps!

I've been looking at the convention... Is anyone else thinking about going??

Hi all! My name is Lauren Cedor and I'm the Traditional Class Rep for the semester that just started this fall. Just under 6 months ago, I was in the same spot as all of you who were just accepted, so I understand both the excitement and the feeling of being overwhelmed that you are having right now.

To those who weren't accepted this time - don't get discouraged - get involved and apply again. Come to the general membership meetings for the Student Nurses Association and/or events. You'll get a chance to meet people who are already in the program and ask questions. Also, even as a pre-nursing student, you can run for positions on the KSU SNA board and even the GANS board. Having a position on either board really couldn't hurt your chances of getting in next time!

To those who were accepted - Congrats! Get excited, get involved, and don't stress about what has to be done before you start. Once everyone has accepted their position in the program, you'll receive an email packed full of instructions on when your orientation is and what you need to get done. You'll have plenty of time for that stuff - so take this time to get to know the people you'll be in classes with (through here and then on facebook once we set up your page).

If you want to start meeting people in the program now - the KSU SNA has created a team for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k Walk/Run. This would be a great chance to get your first KSU SNA shirt and join the team. I'm sure everyone will be happy to talk while we walk :) The link to the event page on facebook is : Making Strides Against Breast Cancer | Facebook

Hi kander96,

Yes, I am thinking about going on Friday. I looked at the schedule for that day, and I think that would be the best day to attend.

Hi Pleigh33,

I have decided to go on that day. I think I will stay for the whole day. Are you coming?

uga_belle, when will our FB group be up?

Your group will be created after the deadline for everyone to accept their spot in the program. For now, check out the Student Nurses Association fb page. http://www.facebook.com/groups/75486709206/

Hey redtrain, Yes I definitely am going on Friday! I think it looks like the best day too.

For those of you planning on going to GANS - if you sign up to go all 3 days (not much more of a price difference) - you can get a $20 reimbursement for your tickets from the KSU SNA. Email your confirmation receipt to [email protected] to get on the list.

Also, if you're going, please please please go to the SNA facebook page and just post that you've recently been accepted and are planning on going (even if it's just Friday). This will help us get an accurate head count.

They're also making t-shirts for the event. You can find the post about that on the SNA page and you'll find instructions on what to do to get one.
