Hi all!

I just started, January 2019 cohort (January 7th, 2019- August 30, 2020) the Keiser University MSN FNP program. I am looking for anyone currently in a cohort or graduated from Keiser FNP.

-Morrisa

Morrisa, I was just admitted to the KU FNP program. However, my start date is May 2019. I have been looking on allnurses and Facebook for groups but have not gotten lucky. I wish you best of luck!

-Jenny

@ Jennyincze It is very difficult to find groups from Keiser Grad school however, I have met 4 graduates from their FNP program and all spoke highly of their education and felt totally prepared for the boards (passing on first try). The program at the beginning is simply discussion posts and papers, I am taking 2 classes, every 8 weeks, for 12 credits a semester. In May my more difficult classes begin, pharm and pathophys for advanced practice and I start clinicals September 1.

DM me if you want to stay in contact.!

I'm thinking of switching from South university FNP to Keiser. Can you let me know how it's going for you, and more about what it's like in this program?

I am also planning to attend Keiser FNP fall 2019 can anyone shed some light as to how they have done so far in the program? Any other groups you are linked to on social media?

Hi there!

I am in my 7th & 8th classes(Jan 2019-July 16). My classes are structured, in the accelerated program, as 2 classes in an 8-week session, with 2 sessions per semester. My professors have been very accessible, answering questions, immediately via text or within about 3 hours via email. The workload, so far is 100% doable, I work full time, 3- 12 hour (yes laugh here as they end up being 14 hr) shifts per week in the ICU and I have 4 daughters, however, only 1 is left in school ( I am 45). I am taking classes, the same structure until October, with the end of October starting my clinical experience. I will complete my program August 30, 2020; 19 months. I will take out approx $50k in grad school loans, with about $9k out of pocket, approx $11,900/per semester. They have been VERY straight forward and honest with me, nothing has been hidden or 'popped up'. I work, in the ICU, with 2 NP's that are graduates of the program, although they did have to do additional training for the acute care portion, but, that is not the direction that I am going; with that being said, they have both expressed that they felt VERY prepared for the boards and all classes were set up knowing what expectations were set. They have 3 start dates with 18 per start. You do have to travel to West Palm for 2, 3 and 4-day intensives, to verify your skills etc. My first will be the fourth week of the start of the fall semester, but, and the last the final semester. I have a personal counselor that emails and texts me to see if I need anything or if I am experiencing any barriers.

It is a TON of work, as far as papers and studying.

I am super happy....so far and I am hoping that stays the course!

Best of Luck,

Morrisa
