Hello! I live in the Tampa are and I'm looking into the nursing programs @ Keiser & Everest. Just wanted to hear for students or former students. The good, the bad.... I know they are both private and quite pricey, but I'm willing to pay if I'm going to receive the education that I need. What program would you recommend? Why? How are the classes? Clinicals?
Thanks

I am attending KEISER in Tampa. I absolutely love it! I truly feel that I am getting a wonderful education there. You take one class at a time for a month then you move one to the next class. I am currently working on my general education classes and then I will start my core classes in January of next year. They start gen ed classes monthly but they only start core classes 3 times a year. I decided on KEISER for a number of reasons but one of the things that stood out for me when comparing to Everest is that KEISER is regionally accredited. Everest is nationally accredited. If you choose to further your education you need to be very cautious about accreditation.
Thanks laurarene! When did you start your gen ed courses? And when do you finish them? I have to take them as well. I would like to start as soon as possible and maybe start core courses in Jan. I'm a little confused with the regional accreditation thing...is it a problem to transfer credits here in Florida or anywhere in the US?
I sent you a private message.
Thanks!
Laurarene...I tried to pm you, but I need more posts. I'm 35 as well and have an 8 year old. I know exactly what you mean about wanting to do this ASAP. I'm visiting both schools this week, leaning more into going to Keiser. I do need the prereqs, want to start in April and that'll give me exactly the 9 months for gen courses and start core in January. Do you think is doable? Are you in Tampa or Lakeland? they are both about the same distance from me. Thanks again
Thanks again Laurarene are you at the Tampa campus or Lakekand? I'm right in the middle of both, but I think with traffic Lakeland would be the best bet for me.
Lakeland...sorry
I attend the Tampa location. I don't know anything about the Lakeland campus but you could always look up NCLEX pass rates for both campuses and also any reviews you can find. Since you are in the middle of them both, it wouldn't hurt to tour both. Also, make sure there is not a waiting list for the core classes in January.
