Late Friday afternoon, I got a call from the nursing school advisor that has me livid and upset!!! :angryfire

I had petitioned to have some A&P credits that transferred as Gen. Bio changed to A&P and the petition was still pending. That's not what made me very upset. What upset me was that he told me that though the committee had done a preliminary ranking, they were waiting for some final grades from students who were taking summer classes. That gave extra time to get my petition approved.

:confused: Now I am confused...I was told the deadline was JULY 1st!!!!! I busted my butt to get everything in on time even though I was short a few classes. The school ranks solely on a point system. Now that students are being allowed another semester to finish some of the classes and STILL be able to be ranked, that puts me wayyyy behind. I could have taken all of the classes I am taking this fall and have gotten 5 more points on my application. I am so upset because now, I simply don't see how I am going to make it in!!!

I am going to talk to a local person on Monday (this nursing program is taught locally but administered through another campus) and get her thoughts. I don't think this is fair at all and I don't know what to do about it except cry in frustration!

Well..there's my vent. It's 5am for me and I've been up all night because my mind just won't let it go so I can sleep!!

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that...I agree. There is a deadline for a reason and it doesn't sound to me like that stick by that and that's not right.

Keep us posted as to what happens - hoping somehow you still get in! Good luck!

Whewww....I'm so glad I misunderstood my advisor when he was telling me that other's were allowed to have some summer classes count!

Here is what he really meant....

The school has a main program and a number of satellite programs. This is in Alaska so the distances are pretty far. The situation my advisor was talking about was for a different program in a specific city only. He didn't know WHY the committee was allowing it but I'm so glad it includes only that one program and no other applicants.

Though the decision was made last week, no letters are going out until the first week in September (ish). I'm dying to know but I guess this is a good lesson in patience!!!
