KC area hospitals for new grad

Published

Hello possible future coworkers! I am about to begin applying for RN positions at hospitals in the area and I have some questions. First, what hospitals are not-for-profit in the area? I heard St Luke's was the only one, can that be true? Also, anyone know who pays the most? Treats nurses the best? Any with fabulous training and nurse education? I would like to know if anyone has any input on VA hospital work either. I am basically, wanting to be at the best possible place from the beginning so I can just get-err-done and know I am gonna be in a place that cares. I really very much appreciate any tips anyone can offer.

Hello! Are you still looking? St lukes is a large system in the KC area that is nonprofit. I am a student and have spent time at St lukes East (Lees Summit) and really like it. It is new, clean, 4/1 ratio in medsurg, and the nurses were really nice considering I was there as a pesky student.

I have also spent time at St Mary's (Blue Springs) and they are non profit, as is St Joeseph.

Stay away from HCA hospitals...
