Kaplan video content and required naps

Published

OK, wondering if it's just me and being tired of all this, but I am working thru the Kaplan content videos taking notes on each "overhead" as I go. I find I must take a nap after a few hours !!! I never have been one to nod off in class :zzzzz. I wonder if it's just being sick and tired of the whole thing? I have to say of the two presenters I do like the director best. I am also getting crabby and find my self saying to self how little I care about such and such a disease or, "what next" after the millionth time they say, "you will need to know this too for the exam..."

I have other content books I could read, but I paid for this class/access, and sure hope they do know what areas I should know for the exam. Anybody else need naps?

I looked at the videos for the content I had a hard time with..the book pretty much has everything they talk about in the videos...so I fast forwarded some parts since they were just reading from the book lol

I suggest you try the following: rearrange your study time, maybe you are trying to study at the wrong time of day for you. Sometimes people just are not alert at certain times of the day. Try to do the bulk of your studying during the best part of your day. Schedule periodic breaks and set an alarm for them. If you have to get up and walk to the window for a couple of seconds or get a new glass of water every half hour, then do it every half hour. Vary your study routine. Try one hour of watching the videos, followed by one hour of answering questions. Maybe then, only half an hour to read a chapter. Break up the boring routine. Maybe you need to cut down on number of hours each day. If you are studying more than four hours a day, it can get to be too much. If you have to, have a big break between two or three blocks of study time during each day. Don't try to study for eight hours straight. That would exhaust just about anyone. Hope you can find a solution to those naps. Of course, maybe you need to sleep better at night and a nap in the afternoon is not a bad idea. Good luck.
