Kaplan University online

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Anyone here going to Kaplan? I am considering transferring to an online program, and they take 9 hours of transfrer credit where I think Walden allows only 6. Walden offers the MSN degree and Kaplan's is an MS. I'd lke to know if anyone is enrolled in Kaplan and what you think about it. Also I want to know about accreditation of the online schools. Was concerned that if I got my MS at one of the online shools that to get the NP certificate at another school that the accreditation may be an issue. May not be too. What do you think about Kaplan and their program compared to what you know of other online schools. Great to have this forum. Thanks

At my University, we require that students have graduated from nationally accredited nursing programs (either CCNE or NLN). CCNE tends to accredit the BSN and graduate prorgams, and NLN tends to focus on the practical nursing, associate degree, and diploma programs.

The list of CCNE accredited schools is at http://www.aacn.nche.edu/CCNE/reports/accprog.asp. According to the CCNE list, Kaplan's BSN program is accredited through 2011.

Thanks. I will check out that link. I have my BSN and am interested in their MSN program only because they allow 9 hrs transferred. I have some of my MSN done and am looking at online schools to complete it. I am seeking answers at this point.
