does anyone know how kaplan scores correlate to a passing score on the boards? is anybody taking the kaplan course in person and has anybody asked the instructors this question? thanks.

i took the class and they consider a 60 percent passing. being a nursing student who hated to get a b this was very hard to get used to. i liked the class a lot, and did the online stuff too. i got anywhere from a 48% to a 71%. that was on the qbanks and question trainers. i averaged in the mid 60's on my qbanks!!
i'm waiting for my results right now, took it yesterday morning, should hopefully find out sometime later today!!
good luck!!

My instructor told our class that 65% was the magic number to get in Kaplan to feel definitely ready to pass the NCLEX.
I had a 62% on the Diagnostic Test
66% on the Readiness Test
Scores of 58% - 69% range on the Question Trainers (with a 67% on QT7)
Scores of 56% - 81% on QBank with an average of 66%
I just took the NCLEX yesterday and thought it was really hard, though Kaplan did prepare me. I'm still waiting on results!

I took Kaplan the first time and scored an average of 62% on all question trainers including Q-bank and failed nclex at 265 questions.
I took kaplan again and scored 67% on the question trainers and Q-bank and again failed at 265 questions.
Kaplan is not a guarantee to passing nclex.
I am about to try Suzanne's plan next.

I had a couple of scores in the very low 50's for the Question Trainers and maybe a 60-something % average for the QBanks. I don't know that I'd pay for Kaplan again; I think I'd spend more quality time with Saunders instead of frantically trying to work between the two. Several of my fellow classmates have said the same.
I think it's as others have said -- you get content with Saunders, and NCLEX-style exposure with Kaplan. I felt very discouraged with Kaplan and almost like throwing in the towel as I felt so inept.
The highest scores I have heard some of our very best students in class got on Kaplan was low 70's. I would not spend much time worrying if you're struggling with this tool. Get whatever knowledge you can and move on. That, in the end, will be the most helpful.
