Kaplan Review Question for NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi,

So I have been doing Kaplan for studying for NCLEX for a few weeks now. My exam is in a week and a half. I concerned my scores aren't high enough to pass the NCLEX. What I have scored so far is:

Q Bank 1: 56%

Qbank 2: 57%

Q Bank 3: 67%

Q Bank 4: 52%

Q Bank 5: 65%

Q Bank 6: 55%

Q Bank 7: 53%

My Trainers are:

Trainer 4: 55%

Trainer 5: 56%

Please let me know what you think and your experience with Kaplan and if I am on the right track or if I should be worried. Thank you

I am in the same boat. My Kaplan scores are going up and down. Highest 67% and lowest 52%. I test in just over a week and I am terrified!! I have also been using Pearson and I have been scoring 75-80%. I have almost exhausted my qbank on Kaplan. Not sure if I should reschedule.

It’s been a little over 2 months since I took Kaplan. In my first question trainer my score was 60 , then the rest were high 50s but I did receive one score as low as 55 . In question trainer 5 I got a 58 and I also got a 58 for the predictor for my first Cat I got the green light for overall and another green light for the psychosocial part of it I forgot the name of it but I had to do all 265 questions then for my second Cat I only had to do 75 and got a green light overall and a green light in pharmacology I never got a red light ( I did take about 3.5 hours on the second Cat). I had about 400 questions left in the Qbank when I took NCLEX and it had been almost a year since graduation it was my first attempt .I used Remar Review for supplemental content review and boy did the Quick facts book help, but I also went to a Community College with a very high pass rate . I ended up passing at 75 but it took my 3 hours with a 15 minute snack break. I promised my self I would share my story so that others won’t let that Kaplan 60 percent mark discourage them. Good luck with NCLEX!

Im in the same boat, my Kaplan's are in the 52-60 range. The ask a teacher peeps in the Kaplan online chat said they want you at a 60%, because the new exam says you need to pass with 50% correct. Im on the fence...I know ppl who have scores in the 50s who passed in 75 qs, but Kaplan doesn't recommend this, not sure what to do either. I went to a good school, graduated cum lade while having a baby in the second semester without taking time off, and have been an LPN for 7 years...im not sure how it will go. I hear great things about UWORLD though, just really pricey in my opinion.

I had to stop using Kaplan. I would not be able to recommend it to anyone after my experience with it. So many of their rationales were full of assumptions and contradictions from rationales from other questions that it was doing me more harm than good. I learned a TON from Uworld.

Yes Kaplan does have its downfalls, but I heard that some of the questions are harder than U world. I only took the free sample on U world and scored higher than Kaplan. I think you need to know all the concepts and Diseases that they have in the Kaplan videos. Weather you learn them from u tube of other sources(kaplans videos can be super boring ). I think the main reason people fail is because they get nervous. I was not at the top of my class and was a C/B student I also had to repeat my maternity class, but as I said I went to a difficult school. If you absolutely cant do Kaplan dont, I am just wanted to state my experience and the tools I used in case it may help. My friend purchased Uworld she and I let her borrow Remar REVIEW which is super easy and simple as far as content but refreshed first and second semester content and basic content, she has not taken the NCLEX yet . Just to confirm an earlier message I took the NCLEX April 2019 after 11 months since graduation I studied for 2 months.
