Hello all! I am looking for some information on the Kaplan Readiness Exam, I am getting ready to purchase the Self-Paced study with Kaplan. I however dont know what to do about the test at the end. I am freaking out trying to "Study" for that and the NCLEX-RN. I graduate in January, so any help, information, or resources would be great. I tried looking on quizlet, but its not my favorite.

My kaplan instructor said the best way to prep is to answer questions then read all of the rationale info given with the answer choices. Use the question strategies that they give. If you come across anything that is completely unfamiliar, google it for a quick summary. Kaplan says that doing at least 90% of the question bank (with remediation) gets you all set. Since you learn from the remediation, by the time you make it to the readiness exam, you won't need any "study".
You're awesome!! Thank you for the feed back! I just recently purchased the Kaplan prep course for self study with all the trainers and the QBank so I'll be ready, I hope.
Thanks Kali! And I just received my quick results today. Kaplan did the job for me in 75 questions!
In my opinion, the Qbank questions are more difficult than the readiness exam. And NCLEX is more similar to the readiness exam: less wordy questions/answer choices, slightly more straight forward questions. I scored an average of 63 or so on the Qbank tests completing about 1100 questions and made a 65 on the readiness quiz the day before my test.
Good luck to you!
I have been plugging along, I am still doing the trainers. So far I am at
Diagnostic:48%
Trainer 1: 57%
Trainer 2: 48%
So I am still all over when I am doing this. My goal is to get up to at least 60-65% overall. I know I need to review some things, mostly maternity/Peds.

Kaplan asks you to "remediate" the questions, in all honesty, you're on your own for that. Kaplan only really puts in the minimal of effort, if any at all, to help you in your studying process. You can only count on it to do questions and then have them tell you the answer after. They aren't gonna explain much as to the "why" or "how" the answer is what they tell you. It just is.
Uworld was much better and is only a third of Kaplan's price.

After you graduate, do UWORLD for NCLEX preparation. its 2000+ questions and two 75 question practice assessment for $80 a month. It is more challenging than Kaplan which is good because you will find NCLEX easier after completing UWORLD. Check out the testimonials and forums from past nursing students who used UWORLD and passed on 1st try! Ive seen more students on the forums complain that they failed when they relied on Kaplan.
