Kaplan Q-Bank!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am taking nclex in a week. Already had kaplan w/out Q-bank.

Just upgraded to get Q-bank few minutes ago, even though expensive...phew .. hope its really worth it.. :icon_roll

I don't know how much you can do it a week (there's a thousand questions there!), but I really wish you great success! I am doing the Q-bank along with the Kaplan program now, and like it. I like that i can take tests in 25 question increments, and re-test myself on the ones I got wrong later on. It's a great tool.

Yeah i know, that's what is worrying me to be able to get throu 1000 quest in 1 week .. i had been going back and forth about buying this and then decided more quests i do better, and i think peop say nclex quest similar to kaplan... God i hope so :)

Good luck to you !!!

Ya know, if nothing else, doing lots of questions TEACHES me stuff I didn't know. I could spend forever "reviewing" content, but the bottom line is I so often come across stuff I just didn't know what it was, period. And getting the rationales for each of those questions is like a mini-lecture on whatever the subject was. And so on for all the questions :)

Anyway, time to get back to the Q-bank...I am!

Ok, so i started doing the Qbank questions. Did 100 quest and got only avg in low 50s , i am really freaking out!!! I am supposed to be giving nclex next week... Did anyone else who passed, get so low??? i really dont think i am prepared.

I am just going to continue with the quest, but dont know what to do if i keep getting these awful scores, should i reschedule the test and take at a later date??? anyone any ideas please

thankyou

Well, the first thing you should definitely do is breathe :)

I found that the more questions I did overall, the better my scores got (generally speaking). BUT once I found the area of weakness, and concentrated on that, I was seeing scores in the 50s, until I spent several hours and a whole lotta questions later and improved that area to around 60%.

As for who passed NCLEX with what actual percentages from Kaplan, I can't tell you...I need some of that info myself! I had a thread around here somewhere that asked something along those lines, and the responses were that people were passing with low 60s. My suggestion, at this point, is just keep doing lots of questions in your weak area, and see if the grades don't improve. Frankly, you have 24 hours prior to exam to change it, if you truly, honestly feel that another week with make a difference and you absolutely can't test earlier. Personally, I really want to put off the test another week or two so that I can get my scores higher, but I also honestly don't think it's gonna change things that significantly. I just keep plugging away for now.

Breathe. Remember Kaplan questions are harder than NCLEX. And see what others have to say! :)

Thankyou for your comforting words... yes, trying to breathe...

started with the OB and growth and dev test, i am horrible in that to begin with... i dont have any children, sometimes feel should have had a kid before giving nclex, would have had better idea of what a preg person goes throu with contractions and all that. Also would have helped with the darn growth and dev.....:lol2: .

Hopefully will get better in the other areas, but yes going to keep doing these quest.. now i am glad i got this qbank...

I would hate to reschedule.. want to be done with this once and for all...

Just keep working steadily; the more questions you answer, the more bits of information you have to answer later questions. As for being better prepared for OB questions by having kids, LOL....I have two of them, lead mothering groups, and STILL don't follow some of these twisted rationales! Sometimes, I think NOT having personal experience would have been a plus (I'd only know "textbook" not "real life" that way)!

Hang in there :)

Thanx again for your support

Finished 100 more quest did little better on psych... looks like i can handle psych people more than preg ones.. :lol2:

how many questions are in the Kaplan question bank -total?
