Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam

Hey, so I'm getting ready to take the Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam in either December or January. I've read some stuff on it, but most seemed to be a little dated, and was hoping for something more recent. But I am terrified, I don't do too well on standardized and timed tests. But I'm mostly worried about the science portion, since I haven't taken Anatomy II yet. And what's considered a "good enough" score? Any pointers, tips, study tools anybody else used would be awesome!

Honestly any information helps!

Thank you!

I have not taken it yet but plan to next spring some time. The school I will be applying to suggests the Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam sixth edition. I know several people who used this for the test and passed with no problems. I bought it off of Amazon for $13. Hope this helps and good luck.

I'm going to take mine in December too. I need a 69%in reading, and a 62% in critical thinking. I am beyond stressed for this exam! I have the study book, but I have found the material to be difficult. While researching online I found that the exam is fairly easier than the guide. I hope that is the case. I found videos on YouTube that helped too. Just search "Kaplan Nursing Exam". I wish us all the best of luck!! I'll write a review after I take it in case you take it after me.

I heard the book is a waste so I didn't use it. I used the HESI study guide, EZ Anatomy & Physiology and the HESI app. For the KAP, the science is mostly physiology. You may get one or two anatomy questions but the bulk deals with the different systems and what they do. Go over your current textbook (and use YouTube if you're a visual learner).

The math is pretty basic - ratio/proportion, algebra (i.e. solve for x), fractions, etc. In a nutshell, 7-8th grade math.

Reading/Grammar section is typical of the name. My advice is to read the answers first, then the passage.

The order of the test is chosen so don't worry about it.

Good luck!
