  1. So I took my exam today and wanted to give a helpful insight. Reading- This section is pretty much self explanatory. They give you a passage, and you answer questions based upon it. Math- This was actually a fun and easy section. Know your fractions, percentages, and decimals! Writing- This was tricky. I would use any grammar book to help study for this. It had things like punctuation and what words to omit. Science- This was the worst section because there is so much to study, and such a broad area. Tips: Don't buy the Kaplan book for this exam... waste of money. I would buy the Teas app ($9.99 on the AppStore) and study the reading, grammar, fractions, ratios, and basic math sections. Hope this helps someone!
  2. I bought the Teas app to study for the Kaplan. It has lots of practice questions. Definitely worth buying. I feel more prepared, although I'm freaking out as well. This exam is my future and I cannot afford to fail.
  3. If you joined the Army you would have to go through basic training and OCS. You would come out as a 1LT, and you would get paid based upon your rank. You get paid the same whether you work 30hrs or 60hrs a week. Depending what unit you are attached to depends on deployment. You would also have to stay within Army regulations in everything you do, even being physically fit. Serving the military is a great thing, just know what you're getting into before you sign anything.
  4. Is the Kaplan different by school?
  5. I'm taking the Kaplan in a few weeks. I have the study book, but the reading section in my opinion is extremely difficult. I have downloaded an app for the teas exam to study reading and math. I have also researched what is covered on it to be more prepared, and researching those topics. Good luck! I will post when I find out my grade!
  6. I'm going to take mine in December too. I need a 69%in reading, and a 62% in critical thinking. I am beyond stressed for this exam! I have the study book, but I have found the material to be difficult. While researching online I found that the exam is fairly easier than the guide. I hope that is the case. I found videos on YouTube that helped too. Just search "Kaplan Nursing Exam". I wish us all the best of luck!! I'll write a review after I take it in case you take it after me.
  7. I have to take the Kaplan for LPN admission. I need a 69 in reading, and a 62 in critical thinking. Do you think those scores would be attainable? I have the Kaplan study book, but the reading portion is the worst section for me. Is the exam anything like the book?
  8. I hope this is true! I'm scheduled to take mine in December and I am soooo nervous! The reading portion of the book is very difficult for me, and I have always been excellent in english. I need a 69% or higher in this category. I know I can do it, but the book makes it seem like I'm going to bomb it big time. I also need 62% or higher in the critical thinking section. I've been studying and researching as much as I can. I can't wait to just take it already!
