Hi everyone. Iam looking into the kaplan college in sacramento lvn program that starts in october. I went for the tour already and passed the first test. What i was wondering was does anyone have any thoughts on this school? are you currently attending this class? how are the teachers what type of finacial aid do they have? any info would be greatly appreciated. also i was looking at csi college in vacaville anything on that school would be helpful too.

applemom.. did you get alot of fiancial aid? idk exactly how much i got. my fin aid guy was a douche..lol. i still need 3900 dollars.. dont know where im gonna get it from... :-(

hey plaza.. sorry i read your post after i posted.. so i was told you only get 9500 in financial aid...but i dont understand that. I was given a "financial aid reward quote" by another school and it was all fed loan and with my grants it came up to almost 26k. i had irt all figured out and now idk what to do.

i still have 10k to cover after grants and fed loans, i applied for a private loan and i do have a cosigner if i find i need one, which i was told people usually do for that high an amount. they cannot add in money for the 10/11 school year yet, that's why i still have 10k to cover at this point. calgrant they will find out about in march, and then sometime next year they will be able to calculate in other grants (and more fed loans if needed). when that happens if i have a credit balance (more aid received than necessary to pay off tuition), they can give me the extra money directly which i could in turn cash and send money to for example the private loan to pay down the balance, or i can request they send the extra money to a lender to pay down the balance.

btw, since i am 26 and have a dependent and don't have a lot of income, i qualify for pell/seog/calgrant/all that stuff

ashlie, maybe only you qualified for 9500 in financial aid? because that wouldn't apply to everyone. did your guy really tell you that?

ohh ok. lucky. i need to find a co-signer and i will be all set. i hope i find someone. oh ok that makes sense. i didnt understand why everything wasnt covered yet. lol. so if we take a loan out then for the 10/11 school year (which should be when next yr?) they will redo our fasfa stuff?

yes, they will call you in again at some point to redo fafsa stuff and update it to see what else you can get. i don't remember exactly when she said they call you back in, but they do. don't worry:)

ps, i just noticed the bvnpt website FINALLY updated kaplan sac to show it as accredited!

yeah thats what he told me that you can only get 9500 in fin aid. how much did you get if you dont mind me asking. for the stafford sub and un ?

i just looked at my aid sheet, i think i know what the guy was trying to tell you, he was talking about the total sub and unsub loans you can get right now, until they can calculate in other stuff. the 9500 means just the sub and unsub loans, for now, not financial aid overall

ooh ok..lol. yaeh he was saying that me and my husband made too much money last year. I was like no we didn't!! lol i dont think im going to go though. maybe I'll save some money up and apply some other time. Good luck to all of you guys!!! you will make amazing nurses!!! ttyl!
