Hi Lisa,
I actually purchased the book, read through it and completed both the paper exam and cd exam that came with book. I found it to be helpful because the book is filled with test-taking strategies that help the person "de-bunk" the questions. The book is also divided into sections ( after every section there is a chapter quiz about 25-30 questions). I found it to be a helpful supplement. I am taking my boards on June 23rd. Hope this helps. :)
Lisa--
I have the book that we were given for the mandatory class my school made us all attend.. I know my classmates and I used it to look up certain areas that we were lost in but the Q banks are really the way to go to be honest.
You know that I need to retake too, and I will be completing everything they provide. The qbanks are the MOST similar that you will come to with the questions me and you took on the Nclex. I am making sure I do them all before my 2nd take.... That is my honest opinion that it is the best way to go.

I was not successful on my first attempt at NCLEX-RN this past Thursdsay and I am now preparing for my retake. I can't afford to do the Kaplan online q bank everyone talks about so my question is what about the Kaplan book that I can buy locally at the bookstore?
Is it similiar?
Thanks for your input! Happy studying!
