Hi all! I am considering a job at Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu. I have experience in labor & delivery, postpartum, and pediatrics. The only hospital I've worked at is pretty small; we do around 80-100 births a month. I have some general questions about being an RN at Kapiolani...1. What is the pay scale like? I have 6 years of RN experience so I'm hoping I wouldn't start at the bottom step.
2. Many positions having "rotating" schedules. Is this typically one week of days then one week of nights?
3. What is the nurse-patient ratio like?
4. What is the atmosphere like? Some coworkers have warned me big hospitals are like assembly lines and there's not much focus on the nurse-patient relationship, breastfeeding, labor support, etc.
Any info and other tips are appreciated! Thank you!
hi, SORRY i can't answer your question but i was curious with your post. If you don't mind me asking you a question? By any chance do you know how to contact the BON Hawaii? I have called them like trillion times but it seems so hard to get a hold of them. I am trying to endorse my license to hawaii, i have a lot of questions which they know how to answer. I hope you can help me. Thank you
