Kaiser NICU's in CA

Published

Hey guys,

I am a NICU RN and may have the possibility of working at one of the many Kaiser facilities in California. Having said that I have read quite a few posts on allnurses.com about Kaiser, most of which do not seem very positive. I am just curious if anyone has had any good NICU experiences at any Kaiser's in the state of California? :nurse:

Hello

I actually did a 13 assignment at Kaiser Redwood City. It was a Level II NICU very small just grower/feeders. Nothing less than about 32-34 weeks really. If baby needed more than oxyhood ie. CPAP they would be shipped out. As far as the name Kaiser they will not hesitate to float you after 8 hours of you shift and also they are notorious for ending contract early. I saw it happen to about 4 travelers who started when I did. Lucky for me I made it a full 13wks. Also they are very very tight on OT so you'll probably just get 36 hrs not a min more.
