Just took the hesi :)

Hi Everyone :)

I just took the HESI and got an overall score of 94% and above 90 in each section. I took for biology it grammar, vocabulary, math, a&p, biology, chemistry, and reading comprehension. Because I was super nervous and always searching these boards for insight, I thought I would share :)

I started off with math. My exam had mostly proportions like 3:x:4:5, which were very easy. It also had basics of improper fractions. I only studied the hesi 3 study guide and nothing was a surprise. Conversions were super easy and mostly 1000 ml to l or mg to g

I next did A&P as I was super nervous for it. I had a lot of questions like where I'd this bone or muscle in the body a) leg b) arm etc.. Some other questions asked about tissues of the bodies and you had to choose and check which were involved, know what they do! I had a few questions about basic brain sections and what they did. I had a few questions also about endocrine glands.

I next did reading comprehension as I knew this would be my weak point. It took forever to read and go through the questions. I just used the study guide to get practice and nothing more. The questions were all straightforward and you could get the answers from the passage. The worst part was the drawing conclusions about what the author thinks. I pretty much got all those wrong so no help from me there. The passages ranged from lightening to alcohol to mr. Rogers.

I then needed a break and left to go to the bathroom.

I en came back to do grammar. I maybe had one question about rules of grammar using proper definitions like what is a clause.. Most of the questions were full in the blank with the right form of a word two, too,to. The remaining were just choosing the grammatically correct or incorrect phrase.

I decided to do vocabulary next. The study guide helped immensely. I had a lot of words appear on it. I had maybe two words from a&p the rest were just medical terms that you could imply from sentences.

I didn't need biology or chemistry for my school but I took them anyway because I didn't want a 0 on my test for those sections. I got 100 on both with 0 studying! I couldn't believe this.

Hey congrats on your hesi! I taking my hesi August 9 and I am so nervous. I beyond scared. How did you study? Theres so much to study for the a&p portion and it can be a bit overwhelming. I am having a little trouble memorizing all the conversions, although I do know most of them. what school(s) are you applying for?

Way to go!! You did great!

I have to take the hesi in a couple of weeks for the BSN program I'm applying to. I'm super nervous as well. I've heard people say that the hesi is far easier than the teas, but to me all standardized test are difficult because you don't know exactly what to study for. I'm not sure what study material to purchase either, any ideas?

Which school did you apply to
