As my daughter sets with me at lunch and starts talking about something that was said in a program got me thinking about a conversation I had with one of our basketball players.
We are from a small town. We have recently been through some drama with our basketball team. It's all well now, but for about 2 wks it was tense around here. (our boys were undefeated in district at this point.) During this time I had a player come in just not feeling well and had a lot on his mind. As he began to tell me what was going on with him he made this comment, "You know...." He had assumed I knew what he had told me. I had no clue. It makes me sad he thought everyone was talking about him and his situation. I love my small town, but some times it sucks. No wonder we have so many kids walking around with shame, regrets, depression and anxiety.

I'm located in a big city, but my school is small and majority of the students stay here from K to 8. So because of that, everyone knows everything about every child. Myself, I'm still learning each child and their family, so slowly but surely I'm getting to know them. But we do have a share of that, but not as much as you do.
It's kinda sad that happens in your school, I hope the student has a better day after that incident. They do say rumors spread and only stay for a month, so hopefully things get better for them.
