It sure is Monday! I have a postage stamp of a clinic and I had 4 asthma attacks in here all at once. One is in here every day just about. He is so uncontrolled that a rescue inhaler / nebulizer does nothing for him at all. Turns out he stayed with a relative who had to call 911 on him because mom did not provide his meds.
First, mom asked me to walk him to the babysitter's house a block away. Remember, I have 3 other asthma attacks in my office. Then, she tells me to give another neb tratment. Can't, I have flimsy physician orders for every 6 hours and have been begging for an asthma action plan. Which I have asked her to follow up on for 2 years!
Did I mention CPS is involved with this kid?
Anyway, mom DOES finally get him after 3 hours in clinc. Not bad enough to call 911 - I wish he was in a way! Then, 30 minutes later - i see him walking through the clinic. He came back to look for a lost toy!
would have called 911, cant breathe thats all I would have said...has no meds in school, requested meds form parent to no avail....lets the cops deal with her. your responsibility is the kid.
