Hi I'm new to this site, and need help w/ Excelsior. This site seems very helpful, and full of supportive people.

I am used to more traditional nusing school and am unsure about how all of this works w/ Excelsior...Do the notes from e-bay really help? What is the FCAA? Does anyone know what the CPNE is really like? I keep reading about how crazy hard it is...It is freaking me out. What sites are best? I was thinking of going to ATL site when I am ready

Any tips or input would really help!

Anyone on this site from the New Orleans area? A study partner would be awesome!

I was formerly at Charity RN program in the fall NAC 2...( if you were in this class no explanation is needed)

Your help would be greatly appreciated!!!! :redpinkhe

don't know what FCAA is...?

CPNE is hard but doable...you have to know the study guide by heart, have to be able to write careplans, etc...go to EPN, you'll find great info there...send faculty e-mails and call them if you have questions. they'll be more than happy to help you.

I'm pretty sure that FCAA is a new part of the clinical component of the AS/AAS program. I think it's taken before the CPNE under the new curriculum. I'm unable to find any verification for now, but I'll keep looking.

I don't think EC has developed the Focused Clinical Competency Assessment (FCCA) yet. There are a few members of this board who have been declared CPNE-eligible without taking the FCCA because it's not ready yet; they'll have to do it when they finish the CPNE.

From what I understand, the FCCA will be a three-part, computer-based exam. Once they have it developed, students will have to be successful with at least two parts of it to be CPNE-eligible, but must complete all three parts before taking the CPNE.
