During flu season, I work for OccuVAX. I completed the usual online training and orientation for the 2017 season over July the 4th holiday. OccuVAX administrators state they deal with "no shows" for the flu clinics on a daily basis. Each year the problem gets worse. Now flu shot nurse contractors must respond immediately to emails confirming clinics and texts prior to clinics. We must call 15 minutes when clinics are finished. Why are nurses not showing up for clinics or calling to cancel?

Apparently, nurses sign up for this job but don't take it seriously. Tie the assignments up for others and pick and choose when you want to work, if at all. I stopped dealing with this type of situation, when I went through all the trouble one year and got not one shift for my trouble. Then, the employer had the nerve to contact me the following year. Why?

I've never ran into that. I sign up for my assignments, they give me my box, I put it in my fridge, and then hit the road on my assigned time. It was good side money for when I was a fresh new nurse.
