Ok my fellow school nurses, do your teachers always send or bring you a student and say can you check his/her temperature she/he feels warm or she/he has a temperature without even checking their temp with a thermometer? Hmmm but don't the human body suppose to feel warm? 9 out of 10 times the student's temperature is normal. Are the teacher will send a note can you call his/her mom she has a fever. My question is how do you know? Did you check with thermometer? No so how does the teacher know? Super powers I suppose.

Ha! I JUST has this an hour ago. A kid came to me and said "I have a fever". I said "who told you you have a fever"? She said "Mrs. E". I said "does she have a thermometer"? She said "No, but she just knows ans said I need to go home". I took her temperature...it was 97.4

On the flip side, I also saw a kid this morning who same teacher sent for me to "please tell him he is fine. He keeps saying his brain hurts". I took his temp and it was 102.5...

SAME teacher. Glad she isn't a nurse, LOL.
