I just passed my NCLEX, and would like to be as proficient as possible as a new nurse. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the core information or skills I need to really get down, down, down. Are there any books, cds, classes, workshops, certifications that would be of assistance? I am a bit anxious, and would like to do everything I can to make the transition as smooth as possible.

This should all be included in the transition/orientation process for your first job. I recommend that you put all of your energy into your job hunt. No one expects a new grad to be proficient in anything.

You have done what you were supposed to do to prepare yourself to be a new nurse. You graduated from nursing school and passed NCLEX. Seriously. That's it.
Why don't people believe that?
And HouTx is right-- nobody expects a new grad to be the reincarnation of Nightingale or Benoliel. Get the job. They'll help you grow into it.
Thank you. I appreciate the quidance.
