Just need 2 vent asap

Published

So i have turned in everything that i needed 2 for Southwestern Illinois College Nursing Program, and now i am seriously on the verge of losing my mind.:crying2: I want 2 make into the program soooo bad, and I will work so hard n stay focused if I am offered a seat. All of my required pre-reqs like Algebra, Bio, n Chemistry are done, b/c I took them in high school and received C's in each class. The counselor told me that was fine. I did not do to well on my DET Exam, gained points from the math portion but none for the English. How crazy!!!! The general ed courses, i received A's n two B's. My gpa is a 3.6, they require a 2.0 to even be considered for admission. I am so worried that i might just lose my mind b4 April gets here. I jst needed 2 vent, any comments would be great. If other SWIC nursing or pre-nursing students read this n leave coments would be evn better.

Hey badbiz. First of all, congrats on getting your application done. You should just take a deep breath and relax. You have done what you can at this point and I am sure everything will work out for you. I do have a few questions for you, if you don't mind. First, the DET exam, when did you take it? Did you just take it, or are you required to before you apply to the program. For some reason I thought you take it after you apply. Also, if you aren't happy with your DET score, are you allowed to retake it now to increase your points? I am curiouis to know how many points total you had on the application. I know the total amount a person can get is 28, but from my understanding there have been people accepted with 15 at times. Do you mind sharing how many your counselor said was okay? (since he was okay with the c's in bio, chem and math). Thanks for answering any questions Bad. I envy you to be a year ahead in applying. Good luck to you, maybe we'll cross paths next year.

the DET exam is given after your application is turned in, so you take it in about jan. the exam is not 2 bad, it was honestly the english grade that shocked me. you can not retake it until a year later, so you only get one shot.also, i took the required pre-reqs in high school about 3 years ago, so it feel into the 10 year mark which was great.wut do u have out of the way so far?n dont be jealous, lol, because i doubt if i made it in so we might end up in the same class. and point wise im looking at about 15-16
