Just moved to Toledo! What salary should I expect and is this salary negotiable?

Hi! I just moved to the Toledo area and have an interview next week. I have two years experience in med/surg. I was wondering what salary should I expect? Is this salary negotiable? What is the best way to go about this?

Why not call the facility with which you have an interview (HR department) and ask the salary range? They will give you much more pertinent information than anyone here can.

Everything is negotiable....or not. You will only learn by asking.

You can go online and get a general idea of area salaries at sites like careerbuilders.com

Whether or not the salary is negotiable will depend on how many applicants they have vying for the jobs available.

If it's a union hospital salary will likely not be negotiable, but will be set by the nurses contract and will typically be based on the number of years of experience (2 in your case). Management couldn't offer you anymore even if they wanted to without breaking the contract.

Our market is pretty saturated in the Toledo area, so negotiations will probably get you nowhere... that said, $23-24 I believe is starting, depending.
