HELP! I just lost my medical assistant job. I worked with a colon and rectal surgeon and both my cars stopped working and therefore I was unable to get to work and take the kids to school and my daughter to daycare. My plan was to resign sooner or later to go back to school to become either an LPN or RN but I wanted to save a little of money first and now I don't know what to do!

Oh, my goodness, you poor thing. You could go to school now. There is free day care, and financial aid pays for all your school. Then again, maybe it would be best if your children were a little older. They are small only once, and it is very difficult to go to school when you just have to take care of yourself much less when there are others that need almost all your energy and attention. do you know anyone willing to help you with your car? It seems that is step one, you can not do much of anything without a car. This is a hard thing that you are going through, hang in there, everything is temporay and will pass. Maybe it was time to look for another job? I don't know, i just know when things like this has happend in my life, it always lead to something better. sometimes your hand is "forced" to do something else. do you know what I mean?

Thanks! I got one of my cars fixed which will allow my husband to get to work and the other will be fixed today, God willing! The ages of my children are as follows, 9, 6 and 2. My two oldest are in elementary school and my daughter was going to daycare. I am planning on going to evening/weekend RN school, which will work out but it is in Jan 09. I believe things happen for a reason. I trust God and I trust His plan even though I am afraid but I have no choice but to trust in the One who created me, you know? I just have to stay focus on God and in His words of encouragement and pray, if not I don't know what I will do. My dream is to be a nurse practitioner and I have to start out by being a nurse odviously. Well again thanks, God bless!
Good going!! You are on your way. Keep your faith and keep your dream in sight, and before you know there you are....... sometimes the path is not the one that we think is right, however, it turns out that way.
God bless you

I've been there. As the previous poster said...when things like this happen, it leads to something better even though it doesn't seem like it at the time.
Just keep your focus and you will get there. I have 4 kids that are 10,9,6 and 3 and there have been plenty times I have almost given up hope that my life will go somewhere better. You find out what you're made of when you're up against the wall sometimes. Keep pushing and you will get there!! Good luck to you!!
:cry:Thanks guys, but at this point I feel stuck and I know it is just a feeling I have to move pass, it's seasonal. But at times it is hard to look forward to the future after you have been threw so much hard times as myself.
Today I will go to an orientation at SCC for the RN program and see what they have to offer and the whole application process deal. Let God's will be done!
